The "Resource Guide" provides links to recommended resources teachers can us to find more information about China, as well as some of the issues present in the Odyssey reports more specifically.
"Reading Informational Texts" is a lesson plan which reviews the skills necessary for critically reading informational texts. The lesson presents one way to teach students "close reading" skills through evaluating two online news resources - one from the New York Times and one from China's People Daily - which address various issues related to student truancy.
"Analyzing Informational Texts" is a lesson which demonstrates how students can analyze informational texts and start formulating their own responses to written information. Using the same news articles from the "Reading Informational Texts" module, students are shown how to respond to the materials, including drawing from their own experiences and expectations to further question the documents.
